Parents for Megan's Law, a not-for-profit organization, offers a Sex Offender Email Alert Program. This program directly notifies subscribers by e-mail whenever the Suffolk or Nassau County Police Departments, or any other participating Long Island municipal police department reports a moderate- or high-risk sex offender. The e-mail will provide the name, date of birth, zip code and a link to the page of the website where you can view the entire notification, including a photograph of the registered sex offender. To sign up for this e-mail service, log on to www.parentsformeganslaw.org , click on "email alert program," and download the subscription form. You can also call the organization at 631-689-2672 to have the form mailed or faxed to you. Information on registered sex offenders is also available on their website and at their office number.
